Small Patch Deployed - February 6, 2010
Patch Notes
Feb 05, 2010 4:06 pm
A small server-side patch was deployed today. Changes detailed below.
AVA/Conquest
Attacking teams that fall below 7 players will now automatically be withdrawn from the attack.
Combat alert hud now only appears when your alliance has a territory under attack that needs additional players. Still appears on full teams during the bidding phase - will be fixed soon.
Combat alerts now properly reappear when a defending strikeforce withdraws from a territory.
Combat alerts tab on the Conquest map now shows all territories under attack, including full missions.
Mail
Upgrades that are moved from mail now display their stats properly.
Removing attachments from mail properly updates the attachment grid.
Auction House
Auction house sorting should now group item names. Still a problem with the Time Left sorting that will be fixed soon.
AFK and Bot Detection
Added additional detection to determine when you aren't pulling your weight in missions. We all have good laughs when we catch a botter and strip him of his unfairly earned goods. Keep it up!
Infrastructure
Additional server capacity was added in the London Data Center.

I have the same problem. Alt-itis i guess. I usually play a most of the classes i'm interested in up to say a low-mid level range to get an idea of what their role in the game will be. Then I make a choice and try to stick with that until I get bored and then mix it up with a single alt.

It has worked fairly well for me.

To answer the original post, it was a game design decision to turn off dyes by default as to make the game play read easier, especially for newer players.

You're correct, its an invite only VIP party in there. You can hear it all the way from Hawks if you listen closely!
Cybercuts is one of a few character customization based features currently in development.

Per pixel is already in the current system. The DX10 support in the Unreal engine was just having performance issues that we wanted to see cleaned up before we released it.

It is based on win/loss of matches you play. The math is very complex, but you can look up the Trueskill information if you want to understand it better.
The reason you should get to 50% win ratio is because you should be placed with similar skilled players and therefore end up at 50/50. For example, if you were in the top 5% of the most skilled players then that's who you would typically be playing against and the ratio would remain.

It's based on the Microsoft Trueskill system (not ELO)
We review stats frequently and the system is actually extremely accurate so far. (check your win/loss ratio after 20+ matches and it should be around 50% if it's working correctly)

We did and the Unreal engine did not want to work well with it (it lowered performance a lot). It will be added when the engine runs it well.

On your new system you should be at 60fps, something is definitely wrong.
Make sure you have all the latest drivers, many times when you get a new system the drivers are outdated. Also, check some other Unreal games to see how they run if possible.

post your system specs, also look at the threads for memory issues.
A deserter debuff is only supposed to go on if you have been in a match for a couple of minutes and leave (or disconnect), if that's not the case let us know.

- Healing grenade will cure everyone including the healer (if he/she is in range)
- Med Crates (from robotics) will cure poisons
- Healing wave will only cure players around the medic (but not the medic)
- Health nuggets will cure poisons

Keep those upgrades, you will be able to repair them and they do as much as the common upgrades even when depleted.

Either give a message that EU servers are down or give a message that you are rerouted to NA. Don't force people to the server without a warning please...
FYI -- even if you are routed to North American servers, you will be playing only with persons that queued that Europe queue. So, everyone you play with should be at the same disadvantage (except for maybe that Oregon guy above
